Adults Only! Hop on Board!

Cruises are not just meant for kids and families. There are plenty of cruises that are 18+, and it is your time to go on one. These ships have all the fun for the adults, and make it, so you do not have to worry about little kids screaming around you. This peaceful and relaxing experience is calling you. You can go with your friends, significant other, or on a solo trip! The possibilities are endless.

My Top 2 Favorite Adult Only Cruises

Viking
1. Viking Ocean Cruises
The minimum age to sail on Viking Ocean Cruises worldwide sailings is 18. Fares include a shore excursion in every port, Wi-Fi, meals in its multiple onboard restaurant (except The Kitchen Table, which is part shore excursion), self-service laundry and wine, beer and soda with lunch and dinner. (Gratuities and drinks outside of meals cost extra.)
Virgin Voyages
2. Virgin Voyages
When Virgin Voyages launches its first ship, it will offer an adults-only and more (but not all) inclusive big-ship experience. Its 2,750-passenger Scarlet Lady and subsequent vessels will be 18+ and include basic nonalcoholic drinks, Wi-Fi, gratuities, fitness classes and meals in its fares.

Adult Only River Cruises

If you want to take a little slower and longer cruise, then a River Cruise is just the thing for you. These also have plenty of adult only options. These cruises are all over the world and perfect for any traveler and their partner. These range from a week to even a month long, whatever you could want these River Cruises will give it to you.

U River Cruises
Similar to Virgin Voyages, start-up river line U River Cruises (until recently called U by Uniworld) is going after the millennial market with what it’s billing as a hipper kind of cruising that isn’t for the kids. Created as an offshoot of longtime river cruise company Uniworld, the line operates two adults-only ships that boast sleek, matte black exteriors, mixologists and DJs on board, deck-top yoga and communal tables for dining.

Viking River Cruises
Since its inception in 1997, Viking (which operates both river and ocean vessels) differentiated itself from the pack. It championed grownup cruises aimed at the sensibilities of travelers 50 years and older with interests in history, art, culture, science and exploration.
Viking River Cruise
Emerald River Cruises
Whether you’re in search of the relaxed pace of a European river cruise, an enchanting voyage through Southeast Asia, or a luxury journey along some of the world’s most stunning coastlines on board our super yacht, Emerald Azzurra – their collection of river and yacht cruises will take you to the very heart of each destination they visit.

Top Cruises Designed for Adults

While many all-inclusive – or mostly all-inclusive – boutique and luxury cruise lines are family-friendly, many of the onboard venues and activities are adult-by-design. Since there are few (or no) activities geared toward younger cruisers and no babysitting services, you typically won’t find parents with young children on these ships.
